Optical VSAT Signal Management ORBIT | DEV 7712 & DEV 7753

DEV’s new system solution “ORBIT” consists of a one rack unit 19” chassis holding redundant power supplies, controller unit, multiple ethernet connectors and three slots for optical down- and uplink modules.
Hard- and software features are optimized to connect state-of-the-art dual modems or two single modems via fiber with two satellite antennas tracking two moving satellites simultaneously. In addition to the up- and downlink signals the system transmits two independent Ethernet channels for system management and antenna control functions as well as 10 MHz signals for BUC and LNB as desired.
A third optional module allows connectivity with a third antenna for maintenance back-up.
The outdoor unit comes in a IP65 chassis and supports full remote management via the indoor unit.
The bi-directional signal links, ethernet, 10 MHz and management links are enabled via a single fiber connection between each indoor module and outdoor unit which provides high flexibility with regards to antenna location while ensuring high signal integrity.
All functions can be monitored and controlled via SNMP.

Description

The 1 RU Indoor Chassis can be populated with 1…3 modules, each connecting to an Outdoor Unit via a single fiber each. Over this fiber multiple signals are carried: An RF L-Band Rx signal, an RF L-Band Tx signal including 10 MHz control signal, and two Ethernet channels. One Ethernet channel is used for the communication between the units, the external Ethernet channel is completely independent and can be used freely. In addition, the chassis is equipped with a redundant power supply, with a graphical local user interface, and with a CPU, providing the DEV Web Interface and SNMP support.
The Outdoor Unit connects to a module of the Indoor Unit via a single fiber through a gland which is internally plugged into an E2000 optical connector. In addition, the chassis is equipped with a power supply, with internally accessible Monitor ports (for the Rx signal and for the Tx signal), and with a CPU, providing the DEV Web Interface and SNMP support.
