Introduction

CCTV (China Central Television) is the biggest and most important news media in China. There are 19 antennas, which are used to receive and transmit TV signals, located in 3 positions in the TV station.
The distance between any two positions is more than 500meters, so they need transmit L-band signal via optical fiber.

Challenge

In CCTV, there are 19 antennas located in 3 positions. Position A is the roof top of main building, there are 16 receive only antennas in position A. Position B is the roof top of service building, there are 2 transmit/receive antennas in position B. Position C is an open ground, there is one transmit/receive antenna in the open ground. The signal center is in the main building. They need to transmit all RF signals from 19 antennas to the signal center. And they want to transmit 4 RF signals from signal center to position B and 2 RF signals from signal center to position C. The distance between A and B/C is more than 500meters. So they need some RF over fiber products to transmit RF signals more than 500meters. Also they need a LNB powering system and some L-band active distribution amplifiers without any loss.

Solution

  • We use DEV 7113 Intelligent Optribution Chassis, plus DEV 7233 Top Performance Optribution Transmitter and DEV 7333 Top Performance Optribution Receiver for the need of RF over fiber.
  • We use DEV 8120 Managed LNB Powering system and DEV 8122 for the need of LNB power supply.
  • We use DEV 2183 2*1:8 Distribution Amplifier for the need of RF signal distribution without loss.

In position A

  • Use 32 RF cables to transmit 32 L-band signals from 16 antennas to the signal center.

In position B

  • Use DEV 8122/4 to provide power supply for 4 LNBs on 2 antennas
  • Use DEV7113, DEV 7233 and DEV 7333 to transmit L-band signals via optical fiber between position C and the signal center

In position C

  • Use DEV 8122/2 to provide power supply for 2 LNBs on 1 antenna
  • Use DEV7113, DEV 7233 and DEV 7333 to transmit L-band signals via optical fiber between position C and the signal center

In the signal center

  • Use DEV 8120 and 16*option2 LNB Powering Twin Modules to provide power supply for 32 LNBs on 16 antennas
  • Use DEV7113, DEV 7233 and DEV 7333 to transmit L-band signals via optical fiber between the signal center and position B or C
  • Use 19*DEV 2183 2*1:8 Distribution Amplifiers to split 38*L-band signals come from all antennas
  • The L-band signals will be sent to IRD, matrix and spectrum analyzer etc.
